Hima doesn't have a design that focuses too much on the head (hair, its ornaments, horns, animal ears...), meaning the design actually pays attention to the face: she has big eyes and they are centered, and this matters because it's where people watching a vtuber will be looking at - that or the mouth, which again is also large, and reasonably separate from the chin, the eyes, etc.
A vtuber design also has to answer to certain "engineering problems" like making facial expressions that are noticeable, Hima seems the easiest to rig and work with.
