For example, you'd probably root for your son if he was interested in a girl. Or if you're a male fan cheering your oshi on, maybe you see them as a bro and want to support them. The only real way you'd feel like a cuckold is if you think, even unconsciously, that your oshi is a (potential) romantic partner ending up with someone else.
Personally I hope that my oshi finds someone for him who can make him feel more confident and less harsh on himself. He deserves the world.
