>>40653288Shondo did a dumb thing during her subathon because she was underrestimating the amount of support severely, and thought on top of a huge list of goals like most subathons had, she also needed to add individual incentives to motivate donating. She made it so every 20 subs every individual donator got to spin a wheel, which involved a bunch of rewards that were not weighted at all, from her commissioning art, to sending a plushie to the donator early and for free, to drawing a full illustration (which she admitted would take 50+ hours each). She spent like 3h on the first day just spinning the wheel over and over for every individual donator. Some people spun it like 20+ times.
She ended up with a list of like 30 people to send plushies to for example, and she admitted after the subathon sending those alone is going to put her out about 5k total, and each spin only earned her $50 total. Considering the goal of the subathon was to help her buy her house so that she can have her own bedroom one day and stream a lot easier since she's currently limited by her siblings needing to go in their bedroom (which she shares with them) she ended up causing herself a bunch of stress and extra costs unnecessarily, don't forget this is additional to the actual subathon rewards.
About 3 days(?) into the subathon donators were asking her over and over when it was their turn to spin the wheel despite her having a list, and she'd already been streaming a long time and was clearly overwhelmed. She assured everyone she would get to it and then multiple people came in and started telling her what they wanted as a reward. She started getting audibly very stressed trying to type everything out individually and not mess people up, took multiple puffs of her inhaler, and burst into tears and said she had to go calm down and she was sorry.
She came back about 2 hours later, said she had a long talk with her family, and they told her she needed to get rid of the wheel for good. The rest of the subathon went really well, and she still gave everyone that donated their spins and rewards, just said that no new donations would be entitled to it.
TLDR Shondo made a bunch of unnecessary work for herself after she underrestimated her audience (this was shortly after her first incline) and expected only a few donators for her subathon, but got overwhelmed by rewards that basically allowed donators to cause her to have to spend more money than they gave her. She put up with it for several days before having an anxiety attack on stream and her family telling her she needed to put an end to it.
