West coast also tends to get summer fires constantly as well, and visiting America over the border you can definitely feel a small difference, especially in terms of road infrastructure. Canadian planners really didn't expect many people to come and move here or leave the cities due to rising costs, and pre COVID there was no shortage of fellow leafs that went over the border to do some shopping/tourism in Washington, even vidya can be cheaper in the US at times than in Canada.
