First of all, pacts always trade a personal trait or ability from someone, so it can't be something vague like home, it has to be something the person holds in their self. Second, pacts for the most part are karmic shit so nearly every time the person who makes the pact trades away something they valued a lot (because, you know, Caim fucking loved telling everyone his name)
With this in mind (and I'm saying this as a very casual Ike watcher so people should correct me if wrong) I theorize Ike traded his ability to write stories. But he'd eventually find other venues to express himself, like music.
Also, I'm basing this on a character from DoD2 who traded away their beauty even if a lot of people (out of universe) still find them attractive so I figure some of this pact business is open to interpretation
