>>19774475This is under the assumption that cover always hires the best person. They don't.
Council was picked INCREDIBLY poorly. You got one person too busy with college to stream, another who is too depressed to put any effort into their content, and a third nepotism hire who never streams. I'm not even angry at them for it, I'm angry at Omega for not realizing that hiring a college student, a full time professional artist, and some one who preferred "They/Them" pronouns might be a poor idea.
I think the only reason myth turned out as good as it did was because Coco was personally involved in the vetting process.
"Oh but anon" I hear you declare, sipping on your corn syrup, smug in your unabashed support for a management structure you know nothing about, "If Council were poor choices, when why are their numbers higher than NijiEN's? hmmm?" entirely unaware of how much of a massive cope that is.
Because Council is standing on the shoulders of giants. Gura, Amelia, Kiara, Mori, but most of all Kiryu Coco, who nearly singlehandedly created an English audience for Hololive, did all the signal boosting and networking that management should have done themselves, then singlehandedly pitched and pushed for the creation of Hololive English. Everyone who else in Hololive English either builds atop of or simply coasts on the hard work of some one who isn't even in the company any more. By the time Council debuted, they already has ten times as big a platform as any of the Nijis did.
You're looking at a trustfund kid and saying they're a better businessman than a self made entrepreneur.
