>>104694257I always give this advice to new artists - don't be afraid to make a mess of lines/splotches. Clean art comes from effort and practice, but the most important skill is to be able to create the desired shapes in the first place. In other words - you might just scribble with a pen for hours, but the goal is to really feel like you understand "what makes the resulting shape good". Once you have that understanding, you can replicate it faster and apply that knowledge to things you haven't practiced drawing yet.
tldr; sketch until you get quick and confident, lineart or paint smudging can wait.
