Now that /who/ has reached critical mass, I would like to remind oldfags and newfags alike of the first and foremost ideal which made the early days of /who/ become one of the best splits in the cesspool that is /vt/ : our collective desire to be the best fanbase for our girl that we can be. Some of us expressed this in posting, some of us didn't, most of us stayed true to this even as we had our bouts of raunchy fun and occasional doxxfaggotry.
A lot of you are entering the split even as we the oldfags have begun to ease up on this. Let's for a moment assume Mumei is really /here/; it doesn't matter if she actually is, only that there is a possibility, an inkling of a chance that she is as inveterate of an internaut as Gura. Would you want to be the sort of fanbase that disgusts and alienates the central piece of its fandom, a gaggle of lonely freaks tearing each other apart with words over nothing? Our place in helping Mumei thrive is extremely simple; we only need not break containment, consume the content and be attractive to newcomers and include them in the culture of this single board. I say "include" not in the sense that every behavior should be allowed, but in the sense that it is clear and easy to become a participant in the collective fun we have everyday.
We can return to the glory days of /who/ if even half of the newcomers and the oldfags who've lost their way return to the core values of our civilization. We're still a great split, and we're already coming back to the good times.
