For example, vtubers that use Live2D are much closer to the JP style of vtubing, generally.
On the other hand, those that use 3D have a completely different idea of what vtubing should be, and it varies wildly. Noticably, some of them refuse to use certain terminology (unicorn, gachikoi, oshi, etc) outright, others despise corpos in general and will do everything in their power to fuck with them, and generally the more 3D things get, the less character RP there is.
Of course, the above isn't always the case, but it does seem to be the case often.
