One of my favorite stationery stores, Rumi Life, just closed down two locations closest to me. An obscure area in Chinatown that sells Sanrio stationery has been selling less and less every time I go there. TWO of the sections in that area don't sell stationery at all now when I used to fill up half a bag full of stuff before. A niche stationery store that has collabs with Japanese artists still has a decent amount of items but even they've been having less good washi tapes and notepads lately. At least a popular anime store in the city has good amount of stationery now that they're seeing how well it sells, but they've been stuffing the section full of Miffy slop instead of Miki Takei and Amenomori Fumika. Miniso still has a good amount of stationery with new items coming in often too, but it may not be enough to sate my addiction. Even fucking Daiso, the best stationery heaven in the United States, is cutting down on their sticker section. Anime conventions still give me the high I need now that more small artists are seeing the potential market with selling notepads, washi tapes, and now sticky tab books! But that's only once a year. And it's still not enough. There's no hope left for me. I NEED to go to Japan. I NEED to go to South Korea. They're the only places that have the abundant amount of stationery I need. You don't understand. I need to surround the cute fucked up rape and emotional ryona BL stories I write with pretty and cute stickers or I will literally combust.
