Her meds are slowly losing potency since she's been medicated almost her entire life and the side effects she gets from them are worse and worse. She's started having dementia-like symptoms, probably because she's tiny and the dosages keep being upped. Her choices are pretty much drop meds and stop being a person and live out the rest of her life smearing her blood on the walls in an institution or keep taking them until either they don't work anymore and return to option 1 or she dies from the side effects
