>>58540236>>58540214>>58540768This has been a problem for D&D on CRPGs in general, the only way around it is usually travel maps and splitting encounters like Solasta does for example. Or just making it infinite with resource cost and hoping players have the sense to actually take their rests between tackling big problems.
It works better on Tabletop because the GM can control the pace of how harsh things are between encounters. Spellcasters are amazing but their resources are the most limited while martials tend to be consistent even low on resources. A Good DM knows how to weave this into the narrative design to create tension or harsh scenarios, but also with ways to reward players with opportunities to renew resources or temporary borrowed powers and the likes.
