It's easy to see the head-cannon as her shifting into Blood-Queen form being something she can't control and is horrifying for her when it happens and even though she usually puts on a stoic facade: She desperately wants to be comforted when it kicks in but almost everyone who sees it happens ends up too frightened to recognize it.
