Yes, they were collabs but they weren't forced to talk in JP when they were alone/talking to the viewers. They always talked in English in those situations when they did big collabs like those in the past (Mario kart, Dorokei)
They chose to make those big collabs into JP streams despite knowing that most of the viewers were EN, hell, they even added them to the JP playlist.
When people say that collabs don't count they mean small collabs, where they are constantly interacting with JP members, not big events where they have a lot of "alone time" to interact with viewers or talk between themselves.
