>>54998448The thing is during the revel I had huge hopes for Aia. She's a huge dork, plays D&D, and has a fantastic model design; all things in my checklist for an oshi I personally love.
The problem is that even when I try to bring myself to watch her streams, she lacks any originality or charisma. Her streams are mostly talking and drawing which would be largely carried if if they had an interesting personality but frankly, she doesn't. Numbers reflect that and everyone, even herself, sees it. I don't even think its her voice nor the niji-male-collab debuffs; its not unbearable and can be easily ignored if the content was better. She's had a slow year start compared to others and is understandably considering if this was a mistake. But to be optimistic, she can still make it if she makes an effort to shake things up and try a different approach.
Now, I can see Shiori possibly running down the same road. Everyone had their expectations up with the whole femdom big tiddy, goth gf model, but seeing her actually be more mellow than was predicted threw some people off. She still has some quirky traits such as that eating with scissors thing but going with educational and microscope streams as people are trying to get a feel is a gamble. Its unexplored territory that may or may not fill a niche and Hololive's buff can only go so far. Best case scenario maybe I start watching her like she's David Attenborough talking about how male seahorse get pregnant idk. Only time can tell if will pay off or flop like Aia.
