We can look for good character/design related stuff in older space operas as well.
Is there anyone in the male chuuba industry that currently has a "German Millitary" type uniform and vibe to them? Like perhaps an older gentleman who uses extreme keigo and likes to play strategy games, and if Japanese, uses "washi" to refer to themselves.
Or maybe something similar to Lelouch, young lanky overconfident lad that likes to play chess.
Design wise there's so much variety in anime that has not been transferred over to VTubing, other than the occasional wacky Niji design like Chaika (which never really manifests in anything other than the design as well).
Then again, sticking Lore-appropriate games can also be limiting, so idk how that type of stuff would work in the long run when they would have to play minecraft, Rust and other community-related games...
This is probably where the "lighter touch" of just enough exaggeration to make it entertaining without going full in-character mode (Miko, Nene, Pekora etc.) could work... but since we have no frame of reference for it in the male VTuber world, how would that even look like?
