>>34487979If you never played shooter games, especially bullet hell variants. I’d suggest playing the easier ones first. Touhou 6 is recommended for people who want to experience the vanilla Touhou, no extra gameplay mechanics, neither too hard or too difficult. The catch is that you’re not provided with hitbox shown to you when dodging bullets, and on easy mode you’ll be laughed by Sakuya. Touhou 8 is famous for being easy only due to the ridiculous amount of resources(lives and bombs) they provide you, plenty of characters to choose from(the only game you get to play as Remilia/Yuyuko/Yukari/Alice), and if you play as Reimu/Yukari, they give you ample time to learn deathbombing. Touhou 13 is my personal recommendation for those starting out danmaku in general though, they’re more casual in difficulty while not handing you too much resources, so you won’t feel like the game is giving you too much pity points. They also showcase more interesting bullet patterns than the other two, being one of the newer one pf the three. That said, if you just want to try out, don’t be pressured to try normal unless you’re one of those people who like to play for the challenge. The only game that laughs at you for playing easy is Touhou 6. Just play it to enjoy the music and the pretty patterns, it’s a nice experience.
