It depends on your intent. If you're actually intending it for making the audience coom you have like a 2k minimum in order for it to be long enough for people to fap to. Meanwhile if you're intending it for plot progression the length is entirely on how long it takes for the emotional progression you want to happen in the prose you're writing.

Because with Kemonomimi chuubas it almost feels right for it to go harder than conventional 'consensual' pet play due to them being presented as a different fantasy race from humans.
Unrelated, but this reminded me of a couple of kemonomimi prompts from a while back. The one stuck in my head being the one about Nene being (You)r pet/slave that you share the bed with nonsexually and getting caught in the middle of the kemonomimi revolution.
