Qualcomm was able to run stable diffusion on one of their Android cpus. It was slow but it worked, so the issue clearly does not stand with hardware capabilities. If anything, the biggest progress came from researching journal papers and applying the ideas behind them to what we already have. And we NEED to fix the damn hands!
