If I have two threads about the topic I want to discuss and one is at 30% activity while the other is at 70%, it's easy to go where the majority is.
That creates a self feeding loop of more and more people talking about the thing there. It's why /baubau/ has 95% of all FWMC posts and why they have so little posts in hlgg when they stream, cause no one who wants to talk about them wants to "be the first to do it" and instead they go where everyone else is.
