people reward streamers they like with money
streams are free, and most never hand over a dime
you could make an argument that they do owe those with a membership a consistent streaming schedule, but even that is a completely voluntary transaction
if a streamer takes long breaks or doesn't make interesting content, they don't get paid, and you can watch someone else who actually puts in the effort
that's all there is to it
