>>26255788But it IS sex. There's arousal and climax.
The reason I give it this very general definition is because I feel like a lot of folk do the same, but due to low amounts of reading experience in the genre, they then mistakenly conflate their distaste for penetration with a distaste for erotic play entirely. That leads to a lot of fetish writing very awkwardly dodging around basic things like characters becoming aroused and nutting.
Now, that's not to say every single fic should have a character doing that; there's often appeal in taking a voyeuristic viewpoint on a fetish situation, and many people are aroused by characters not particularly enjoying the situation they're being thrust into. But making the blanket statement that there is *no* narrative context in which overtly sexual behavior on the part of the characters is welcome doesn't make sense to me unless you're outright asexual.
>>26256448It feels a little pathetic shilling my own shit, but I think Employee Benefits shows how you can accomplish this without dedicating paragraphs upon paragraphs to describing characters' genitals. Characters being intellectually aroused from their size/acting gluttonous/being full/etc. can be just as erotic as outright fucking when done right.
