Whether you think the underlying reason is some dream of a grand multilingual unity, or their "become Japanese" delusion, or calculated min-maxing (realistically it's a mix of all), the end result aligned closely with Cover's new direction and got massively greenlit.
EN was and is fairly problematic and not nearly as important in the future value estimations as JP, but I wish they'd rather tried to play around the kind of demand the West has instead of soft-assimilating it into JP while jettisoning the non-conforming ballast.
Anyone complaining about FWMC abandoning their EN audience (or trying to convert them to the JP type of a fan) needs to realize it's not the dogs being dumb, it's them for wanting to go back in time to the halcyon days of early Advent. FWMC seem to be consummate professionals and they expect you to either follow them to JP or get written off.
