Obsydia members were already designed by the time of Lazulight's debut (see pic). This is even more obvious if you compare each member of Obsydia to Lazulight ("Satan" Rose vs Eldritch Fairy, Lunar Dragon vs Solar Dragon, Penguin vs Mermaid); they're all dark counterparts of the 3 Lazulight girls, an opposite rival unit if you will.
You probably noticed there's a Light and Darkness theme going on. Well, Ethyria actually continued this, as said here:
