Do you know what's funny? That same guy became a great friend later, once he ACTUALLY got to know me.
Only when everyone else saw me hanging out with him, interacting normally with another human, they actually considered that I might be a human too. Eventually I became close with everyone in my class, and THEN they told me they were scared of me at first because I "look like I want to kill someone". Without exception, they were all surprised at the fact that I'm a genuinely chill dude who just doesn't talk much.
This specific scenario happened in college, but it was roughly the same throughout my entire life whenever I entered a new environment. "OMG Anon, you're so nice and funny, I thought you were a psychopath, hee hee"
It's genuinely hurtful how shallow people are.
