>>53984532As a lover of nolanshit I completely understand why people hate movies like Tenet and Interstellar but Oppenheimer is a movie entirely free of nolanshit moments like that. It's a biopic first and foremost and there are no super high concept scifi elements that get revealed later on or anything like that. It's just an unbelievably dense and fast paced drama about Oppy, no one and nothing else really, just Oppy. The whole film is just a refinement and amplification of the energy he made Dunkirk with. It demands attention but it's also one of the few 3 hour films to be released recently where not a single second is boring, so giving it the needed attention isn't hard. I have a slew of issues with Barbie, mainly the internal logic and incredibly muddy fence sitting message and self protective non arcs that most of the characters go through, but it's still fine as studio popcorn comedy. Neither are perfect but Barbie is very far from perfect and is being crazy overrated, and Oppy is very very good and is being fairly rated as such.
