>hobbyists doing it for love of some characterThey will cosplay one and ONLY ONE character, their oshi (be it from the vtuber world, anime, vidya, cartoon or whatever)
>semipro and professional onesThey'll have their favourites but will pick up whatever job comes their way because money is king
>seamstressesThey as well will have a favourite but they'll chase trends hard because they can sell their outfits for thousands of dollars
2) and 3) are over represented because they're the only ones people know their actual names but 1) makes up for most cosplayers and they're even more tribalfags than the cool kids in this thread
