>>106300410>the days of dissociating are overto be clear, they certainly aren't over. I just meant we had a beautiful period where it was like hanging out instead of watching tv.
>how to prevent it (in part)100% yes on the just change the fucking game if you HATE it. it isn't fun to watch. she isn't doing the autists any favors either by conditioning them into thinking hostage = fun. the people in the middle are also subconsciously influenced by the vibe shift. you'll notice how she can pay extra attention to some chatters without pissing people off, while focusing on others grinds their gears. the concepts are related
>the other partthis all seems like common sense to us but I think it is a little too easy to forget that she doesn't actually like real games. if she were entirely uninfluenced by chat, she would just bee playing shit tier woman gambling games all the time.
she gets off to high functioning spergs having fun and teaching her things. battlefleet gothic was a great example. she also unironically enjoys babysitting the more autistic chatters as well.
>golden meanthat requires a tight rope balance. she can't just disregard what the higher functioning ones are into or they get bored and she stops having fun without realizing why, which creates a feedback loop as the spergs get annoyed with her for being fake. if it were up to the spergs, we would be doing strategy, sim, tactics, crpgs, and learning streams nonstop.
the problem is that if she doubles down on thought intensive stuff, the autists become increasingly fussy over the smallest shit until they become unmanagable. those are not conditions that calm her down and help her figure out how to reason from the specific to the general back to the specific. so the spergs get annoyed, the autists can't shut down, she gets overwhelmed, it sucks.
>solutions>say no to reeeeobviously your primary point stands. lumi's love language is expressed in effort and time. it's nicer to have her there than it is to see a game you like. if things are going to shit, do something else.
other things she can do to min max her way to entertained spergs, mollified autists, and not overstimmed lumi are more complicated but I think doable.
>timing first, as much as she hates it, she should probably consider some variation on stream times. take monday and tuesday off even, but make saturday and sunday long. why? normal people show up on the weekend. same thing holds for stream times. streaming a little later - maybe a longer midday break - results in mixing up the audience. americans coming home from work and tuning in will help to balance out unemployed euros staying up all night their time to reeee for 8 hours straight.
it is wise to mix up the chat pool for other reasons too. put non-controversially, her atypically timed streams bring in a different crowd that, frankly, seems cooler on average.
there is good reason to wake up early in the morning and go to bed at a reasonable time. streaming on weekends when normal people are able to watch does not interfere with that at all. streaming a little later until say 9, would mean getting the east coast 6-midnight and still give her 4 hours to dick around before bed.
changing out the water has a massive impact on normalization generally. people coming home from work are the type of people who want to have fun and dont have pent up neet nitpicking daka to spare. it also helps remove the perception of a chat clout hierarchy people complain about when she clearly responds to types of comments instead of types of people
>interactions and leading by examplethe sunbro arc showed us how it is not the amount of attention a chatter gets that makes people mad. it is the type of interactions. this should be leveraged very aggressively to tardwrangle chat into being less rediculous.
if everyone in chat is jumping down her throat, she doesnt need to take everyone equally seriously. ignore responses that are just aggravating her. ask for help from people who give useful help.
people arent completely retarded. I have seen in real time how people begin to emulate the useful behaviors of chatters who behave usefully. she reinforces and validates stupid behavior by engaging with it at all.
I DO NOT mean reading and saying "that's dumb". she can do that for bants of course. but if you want to delegitimize a behavior, you dont contest it, you ignore it, and indulge the behavior you want. you withhold.
>backseating generallyno one wants to watch someone else play the game for her. that needs to be balanced against her enjoying being backseated and chat enjoying it too. the viewers bring noombers and chatters bring engagement. she needs both.
this is resolvable by adjusting backseating dialogue away from key press and mouse click level step by step into backseating the connection between what/how/why. that won't annoy watchers but gives people things to do.
forgive the essay but meta isn't easy or possible to discuss on stream
