In Japan, it's the opposite: rectifying their "mistake", apologizing for it, and sometimes taking time to "reflect" (e.g. the nipple guy, Mio).
When someone attempts a technique that isn't native to their region, it just seems odd like when Yugo took a week off or when Kanae apologized in English for making a gorilla character black.
