To me, there is no difference amongst the people who choose to purchase a textbook, a movie ticket, a vtuber membership, a PS5, a football game ticket, a vtuber live concert, an ice cream cone, etc. You may think that pursuing "a higher calling" with whatever 5 bucks or 500 bucks you spend is worth more than insert-other-thing-here but why should that affect you, if random people are choosing to instead not pursue this higher calling. All arguments for the things shown in OP post are "well you could have bought a yacht dude you could have gone to college"
