If you're referring to shorter form stuff though, I think at a certain level of density, greentexts made with the intent of being "ideas" or jumping off points into something hypothetically larger (which we've had plenty of) grow tedious if none of them ever materialize into the full product. Not to discourage the practice entirely but I think that's where the engagement is fading.
What's a shame is I feel like we used to get greentexts that were meant to be isolated experiences all on their own, the kind of thing I'm interested in actually archiving. That sort of completes the venn diagram between satisfactory product and low investment on the part of the author, so maybe we should be encouraging it more to rekindle the creative spark?
