Pomu's otaku room stream alone showed that people absolutely do buy merch if it's quality merch. Some of the stuff was completely fan-made and better than the shit in the Nijisanji store. Even Pomu highlighting how well Hololive's merch sells and how cool the plushes were showed that the issue isn't with male viewers being stingy, it's with the merch quality being bad.
Also reminder the girls' merch doesn't sell poorly, even Petra and Reimu sell better than most of NijiJP who still get sponsorships and merch despite being 3views. If management were truly numberfags they'd just stop releasing merch for most of JP and put it all into Pomu/Selen along with Luxiem.
