Outside of saying hi in chat and liking tweets I'm a lurker but I've never gotten the feeling that there's any sort of cliques or favorites
It always came off to me that anyone who can be seen as a favorite is just someone who makes the effort to be active, converses in chat, colors along with her and posts them for her to see, etc.
The seldom times I have done more I always felt acknowledged
I do agree discord is AIDS and always ends in tears and while I don't use it it always seemed to me as another instance of if you want to be involved with it then it's just another equal playing field
