I have the means to keep my membership and buy merch for my oshi, this is all means of supporting my oshi and I see nothing wrong with this.
I will fantasize about my oshi as my friend or wife depending on how I am feeling at that moment. This is all in my head and will never happen but I understand that, so I see nothing wrong with this.
If referring to friends and family, I don't care. Just don't lie about shit and if it's too personal just don't talk about it, I don't have to know. I see nothing wrong with this.
