I really enjoyed Sonny's birthday karaoke stream! I had low expectations going on, but this was honestly everything I wanted from his karaoke and more.
I was worried that he'd get pressured into doing FOTM Vocaloid songs or that he'd be really nervous throughout, but he gave us a set list of fun, cl/a/ssic anime openings that I wanted to sing along with, and outside of some early nerves, he sounded like he was having a ton of fun. I loved all his little improvisations during the songs, like the PEW PEW PEW in Stuck in the Abyss, the Finana voice impression in Diamond City Lights, and the voice lines in Sorairo Days. Where's JIBUN WO though... I could've sworn he said he was going to sing that...
I'm honestly just delighted right now. He's not an amazing singer, but he sounded pretty good - and most importantly, he had fun. It felt a lot like going out to karaoke with my friends, belting our favorite songs and having a good time even when we fuck it all up. I think that's the true soul of a karaoke stream.
