>>50368713sister and mom each asked me what i was listening to when i was playing some of her songs. my sister's now a huge fan of MGO (surprisingly likes SOS a lot), and loved specter too. caught her listening to the suisei covers playlist once. she also watches vtubers from time to time but she was unfamiliar with suisei, she then found that one "hoshimachi suisei story" video and went from liking her music to liking her overall ("this woman deserves the world" etc etc).
once in voice chat i played rat a tat and je t'aime and my jazzhead friend was like "yo what am i listening to?", he was absolutely infatuated with debutante ball afterwards and now listens to her regularly and sometimes watches clips of her concerts. in a group chat with some other friends someone shared a song she was working on and i said she could use a slightly detuned piano for a slightly more lo-fi sound and used ryuseigun's piano as an example, and another friend jumped in just to say "yo this song is REALLY good". an idolhead friend decided he was done having a music taste that quite literally just consisted of idolshit (seriously, he listened to nothing else) so i gave him some recs starting with j-pop as that doesn't stray too far away from his comfort zone, and sneaked a few suiseis in there; he really really liked michizure, jibunkatte dazzling and bye bye rainy.
lastly, my roommate sometimes walks into my room while i'm blasting specter and he just nods along without saying anything, but that normally means he likes what he's hearing. another irl friend who plays the bass is also a bit of a weeb so i told him about suisei and showed him a few songs; he absolutely adored debutante ball and NCP, and enjoyed tenkyuu and TEMPLATE.
i'd say that'd make 2 proper hoshiyomi while the rest are suisei music enjoyers at the very least. pretty good honestly, for being surrounded with a lot of people who really aren't big into japanese music.
