what is soundposting? 4chan allows the video format .webm to be posted but it doesn’t allow you to post .webm files that contain sound. to get around this, there are extensions and scripts (I use the script “4chan sounds player” which you can install through tampermonkey, but I can’t vouch for the safety of any of them) that will link webms on 4chan to sound files stored elsewhere on the internet. that’s all you need in order to HEAR soundposts, but it’s a little bit more complicated to actually create a soundpost.
to soundpost, what you need is a webm file that’s been stripped of any audio tracks and an audio file on the internet that you want to attach to the video. go to
urlencoder.org and paste the link to your audio file. grab the encoded URL. in the file name of the webm file you’re uploading to 4chan, add [sound=(encoded url without parenthesis)]. you’re done! so long as your audio track and video track are the same length, they should play in sync. if they are of different length…. I don’t know what happens honestly
