I think another reason why some Kindred might be hurt by this is because they may have felt, and this might be a strong word to use but I can't think of a better one, a bit of hypocrisy. I'm glad Milord can stand up for himself now, but to be a little fair, he bought the confusion and mixed messages upon himself. He would accept every request and demand with almost no hesitation and now he's scolding the people who have done that despite not saying earlier that he was uncomfortable with it. How was anyone supposed to know that he didn't like it or felt gross about it if he kept accepting those requests even after the few times he said he didn't like doing the overly sexual ones? How can he say he "feels like a wind-up toy" if he continued to perform like one? You can't really blame the audience for clapping for your performance and buying tickets for the next show if you go out on stage and perform the exact show they ask for. He'd always do what everyone asked of him, and for the longest time a lot of people didn't know that he was uncomfortable doing it because he was such a people pleaser. I'm really happy that he's able to find the strength in him to finally say no, but at the same time I see why some have mixed feelings about it because it's like "well, you're the one who said it was okay this whole time. Why didn't you speak up earlier if you weren't okay with it?". And now he has. I can wholeheartedly empathize with not having the strength and courage to speak up before but do so now, and in a way he did put some of the blame on himself by admitting how much of a people pleaser he is/was. I've been in a position where I've wanted to say no but didn't because I was putting the other person's enjoyment over mine, so I'm glad he was able to finally say no and think about how he feels for once.
