There are a few factors, but the biggest one is that 2024 is not 2022. Say what you will about Magni and Vesper, but there's a lot to say about them.
What do you say about Flayon outside of him being the eternal runt of his gen? What do you say about Ruze? I don't even know what gen he is. You can say a few things about Bettel since his 3D stood out enough, but that doesn't leave a lasting impression. So that's a pretty poor selection for the homos.
Taking this from /#/s, but people raised a good point that Kronii was not expected to do homo collabs, and Mori to a lesser extent. When ERB straight up tells you "I'm going to do homo collabs," that doesn't anger unicorns because she wasn't there to begin with and the beggars aren't having fun because girls like Gura or FWMC aren't the ones being forced to do those kind of streams.
So you win neither side over.
There's also the kicker where people were expecting the bois to be the one to show ERB's at her most enthusiastic. Which kek, she was just as much a wallflower here, maybe even more, than with her gen. Even when alive, the bois are doing the "Did you say chocolate?" lines and all ERB responds with "...oh yeah, that's a Spongebob reference."
Whoa, I'm on the edge of my fucking seat, slow down there. But that's all it ended up being, a poor selection of homos, a girl who's upfront about what she'll do that doesn't really troll anyone, and she largely ends up sitting around seeing guys thinking "loud=funny" and saying lines with a few pitch changes, rarely a joke setup. Oh man, the way he said OH JESUS GOD, FUCK is so killer, I need to subscribe to this homo for his knack for humor.
It was a losing formula at the start.
But I'll give ERB this, she wasn't 40 minutes late like in the Crab Game collab...s-she's learning.
