Kanata's extreme suspicion of whoever leaked the information, to the point of not telling anyone, is a clear sign.
In the worst-case scenario, the truth is that some senior executives secretly leaked the information themselves and then blamed an insider for spreading leaks, using this as a pretext to enact any rules or regulations to control people within the company.
If you ask why I think this way? I've seen this happen before in my old workplace, and the executives got caught and sued, but the damage to the company was too great to fix.
