>>109537708I mean sure, that's awful, but in the 90s and early 2000s the only anime you had easy access to was the dubbed and localized shit being broadcast on TV. Having to wait literal days for shit to download back then, gambling and hoping you didn't get fanubs written by a literal retard, and just all of that in that era kind of sucked.
I do hate that Crunchyroll killed the fansub scene, and that it's become so mainstream that there's actual retards who prefer dubs and butchered localized versions because "muh nostalgia" and other stuff about the modern anime community, but on the whole my quality of life when it comes to my ability to consume and discuss anime is way better than it was back then.
