>>110330383Nah in this case it opened a lot more playstyles and player freedom. Druids had to be neutral, that's no longer a requirement so you can now play a chaotic evil druid if you so desire. Monks had to be lawful, no longer the case, you can be a chaotic neutral drunken brawler monk if you want to. Paladins had to be lawful good etc. A lot of those restrictions were removed so people could play how they wanted (you could and people often did houserule that shit anyway)
Racials were a very old holdover from outdated design ideas where even many classes were strictly tied to races, like the Wizard was always an Elf, that sort of thing. It was stupid that you had to houserule or juryrig something just to roleplay something that'd be very normal for an "adventurer" character, being an odd-one out. A dwarf that's more intelligent than wise, or some such, but then being held back because dwarf was just a terrible race choice for an int based class.
No idea how conservative retards made it all about politics somehow, but those drama tards always find a way.
