the glowing little squares and circles with numbers above them are player markers, they're not actually using them for any strategy right now but you can drop them wherever you want
the rest is boss mechanics - like when the big spinny thing shows up that's a DPS check, you look at which part of it currently glowing and where the boss is pointing the red orb and determine the attack pattern based on those 2 overlapping attacks WHILE dealing damage to the spinny thing before it hard wipes the entire raid

Wonder how long it'll take her to beat this boss though, the fights seem pretty annoying to beat. So weird a platformer game even has these mecha segments.
