The culture war twitter types and just you general hate farms like bvtm have it as their final goal to normalize the same kind of ostracization that's being applied to unicorns to the entirety of the vtuber fandom. They want "vtuber fan" have the same reaction as "pedo".
Now, I don't know who's more dangerous after all, internal enemies (unicorns and parasocials in general) or external enemies (performative types who kill hobbies and people who want to kill vtubing in general). The latter present and existential threat but the former make it so much easier to attack the fandom.
