This is a hobby (at least in the Holo side) where people strive to post their oshis in the best possible light and people go out of their way to even commission artists to create BEAUTIFUL illustrations of them.
Only the most absolutely disconnected (reminiscent of the dreadful reddit shitpost review era) find it amusing to create media portraying Holo girls as deformed and that's why most of the rest of the fandom keep them at arms length.
Same phenomenon (and usually the same people too) is that "calling Fubuki a cat / Kaela a penguin" crowd, finding it amusing to do something opposite of what the girls would prefer.
I am in no position to say it's not funny to you (that's something subjective) but I can at least explain why most of the fandom don't share the same sentiment about it and, also, why it truly looks out of place as if coming from people from outside the fandom.
(which it does, btw, being a staple of the BVTM brand of "comedy)
