I don't know if she makes much... but if she doesn't, and if she indeed has a kid...
She shouldn't be stubborn and decide to raise it as a single mother if she doesn't make enough money.
She should try getting help from the kids grandparents instead of being retarded like certain single women, women who make their lives harder for of foolish reasons such as pride, face and clout.
Even if it is possible that she has a bad relationship with her own parents, or with her husband's parents... a child is innocent so surely they wouldn't be understanding? Also, I doubt her late husband's parents would refuse to help the kid. Even if just to take care of it while she's at work and the child isn't at school.
Losing a husband sucks. But that isn't reason to make bad choices.
If everything, call some social service worker to put the kid in some programs.
