The hololive english debut made /jp/ the fastest board by far. The spike was enormous. That was before there was any clips really, I mean it was completely new. So where were all those people pouring into the board from? Other boards? I don't know for sure.
But I do know that on /pol/ there are a lot of cryptofags who are big-money people. And a lot of these people got invested into hololive because of the Coco drama with taiwan. That shit was all over /pol/. In fact they still sometimes make threads over there, I think to farm new people.
There's also a concept that people should understand, that certain groups become amplifiers. I think there's a lot of amplifiers who hang around 4chan that got onto the hololive train, and that magnified them a lot. Maybe there are some that are starting to find out about niji, but I don't know. Maybe the entire industry is starting to decline a bit. Just like the brony thing.
