Gomoku may not have any political meaning inherently, however that does not stop one from using it to push a political message. For example one may release Gomoku pieces with specific symbols on them. They may be left wing or right wing but if either side concedes that Gomoku isn't important enough to release their own pieces, they have ceded ground to the opposition.
That is why "everything" is political, because everything is a power struggle.
