This is why a 50% cut is outrageous. She's losing effectively $500k for the privilege of dancing around on a stage once a year.
I don't know why japanese corpos assume 50% is "fair". That doesn't seem like an economic calculation, that's a number they pulled out of their asses. A small corpo has to compete for talent, and takes more like 30%, not 50%
