>>64429986Because I'm in the mood, let me give you a history lesson:
You see, /vt/ is still a new board, newer than when Kiara debuted. To really understand why there's still shitposting against Kiara beyond what everyone usually gets here, we have to go back to /jp/.
Back there, when the vtuber boom came alongside the coof lockdowns, especially with Hololive at the top, /hlg/ was by far the fastest and most populous thread there, with threads hitting the 2000 post limit every single time (that's where the tradition of surveyposting was created: the threads eventually ran into the image limit at around 1500 posts and those who wanted to post images started to speed up the thread to reach the post limit as well so that a new thread could be created where they could post images freely). Splits were deleted but the 2hufags and the gravurefags whose little corner in the internet was disturbed nonetheless, were angry.
Because it was /jp/, a lot of the thread culture was yoinked from the japanese imageboards, mainly 5ch and 2ch. For example, that's where the unicorns were first sighted, except back then they were ridiculed by /jp/ who thought themselves higher than the waifufags at /a/. Eventually, anons discovered that there's a section of fans who dig after the talent's real identities and their past activities on the internet, which attracted dramafags like no other, especially paired with the pure idol imagery of Hololive (or at least what the LARPers wanted Hololive to be). This info, while not really doxx, was spread immediately and the ones who hated the existence of /hlg/ finally had ammunition. To this day, if you go to /hlg/ on /jp/, there's no thread without someone in Hololive being called a whore, on the basis of having a picture somewhere on the internet where they show cleavage.
And then, the worst came (for the west-hating weeaboos):
Hololive English
The very thought of western whores besullying their beloved Hololive with their identity politics and looking down on Japanese culture, was unimaginable for the /jp/ masses and everyone hated even the idea of the branch. As it goes, information about their roommates (codeword for the talent's past internet personas to get around meidos who were starting to crack down on the rampart shitposting and flamewars) was quickly spread around and because Kiara's roommate was the most active on social media (as Kiara is the most active even now), with posts that indicated her being somewhat politically active, she was deemed public enemy number one.
In actuality, Kiara isn't disliked because she goes MEMEME or she numberfags or she has a shrill voice, those are flimsy excuses that were hastily fabricated when the shitposters were getting banned for spamming irrelevant content and they needed something to keep on hating her. Nothing she does is something a JP talent hasn't done before her time in Hololive and none of them were called out for it back then. The people who hate her fear the idea of her ruining Hololive.
The funniest thing is that if they actually paid attention to her content, they'd have found the greatest ally in Kiara: someone who truly joined Hololive because she wanted to be a legitimate idol and her otaku interests don't stop at anime and manga, she speaks fluent Japanese (with a Japanese accent, to boot) and she's up to make connections with the JP talents all the time. She even browsed 4chan and was open to critique. But they fucked themselves out of someone they could rally behind because shitposters hinted at her being the devil and they'd rather believe an anon's words than their own eyes and ears. But the damage is already done and combined with her lackluster debut week, Kiara is still impacted by a percentage of viewers and clippers not wanting to do anything with her becuase of random faggots on /jp/.
